Scotland is an exciting place to be living in at the moment with new political partnerships, new collaborations, new hopes for better communities. Who knows where it will lead, but the sense of hope is tangible.
On the church front too, exciting new things are happening – new
friendships and collaborative projects are springing up in a very
creative way across the denominations, based on genuine respect and
affection. This website is an excellent example of this. It’s born out
of an ecumenical group of people who have been meeting informally over
the past few years to share ideas, resources and good practice
especially in the area of lay learning and lay ministry. There’s a
generosity of spirit at the heart of this group that’s inspiring to
experience.
This resourcingchurches.org.uk website, a child of this ecumenical
partnership, is designed to be a pool of creativity for all the
churches in Scotland. Please have a look at what it has to offer - the
various events, materials, people, ideas about growing in and sharing
the Christian faith that are floating around in Scotland. Use it, add
to it, tell your friends about it, critique it, attend the events –
keep the rumour of God alive!
