| Description | Not only is change constant, but we need change. Imagine what life would be like if it were constantly just more of the same. We thrive on change, on variety, on newness.
The legend of Groundhog Day is based on an old Scottish couplet: "If Candlemas Day is bright and clear, there'll be two winters in the year." In the 1993 film, a Pittsburgh weather man covers the annual Groundhog festival for the fifth time – but feeling that it symbolises life going nowhere. On getting up the next day, he discovers that he has actually woken up in what, to him, seems like yesterday. Furthermore, no one else seems to notice that the world is repeating itself! After several attempts to escape the nightmare, he decides it must just be a bad case of déja vu and stumbles through the day in an even more halfhearted way than he had the day before.
